Watch later reminders

A Watch Later Slot that actually reminds you

Saving a video is easy. Remembering it on a quiet evening is not. Reminde turns watch-later into a Slot with a schedule, so YouTube links and other saved videos come back when you have time to watch — not when your homepage is already full.

Why watch-later queues go stale

YouTube, browser tabs, and bookmark folders are good at capture and weak at follow-through. A Watch Later playlist grows without a prompt. Tabs survive until the laptop restarts. None of those tools know that you watch on Thursday nights or during a commute. Reminde treats “watch later” as a Slot plus a reminder cadence you control.

Save the video, then pick when it returns

Use the Chrome extension on a YouTube page, or share a link from your phone. Drop it in a Watch Later Slot. Give that Slot a time — a calendar date for something timely, or a repeating window such as weeknights at 8pm. When the reminder fires, you open the Slot and play what you saved, instead of hunting through an unbounded playlist.

Articles and videos can live in separate Slots if you want reading and watching on different schedules. They can also share a “Sunday catch-up” Slot. Reminde does not force one queue; it lets the reminder match the kind of attention the item needs.

Across YouTube, the web, and your phone

Watch-later only works if capture is cheaper than opening a new tab “for later.” The extension saves the current YouTube URL without leaving the page. iOS and Android use the system share sheet. The web app is the place to reorder, add a note about why you saved it, or move a video you have already seen into an archive Slot.

If you used Pocket as a dumping ground for videos as well as articles, import that export first, then split the video URLs into a dedicated Watch Later Slot with its own reminder. That is usually faster than rebuilding the queue by hand.

Keep the queue honest

A reminder is only useful if the Slot is short enough to finish. When Watch Later passes a few dozen items, create “This week” and “Someday” Slots. Put the reminder on This week. Someday can wait without buzzing you. The goal is not to notify you about every URL you have ever liked — it is to make tonight’s Slot visible tonight.

Frequently asked questions

How are Reminde watch-later reminders different from YouTube’s list?

YouTube Watch Later only stores videos inside YouTube and does not notify you. Reminde saves YouTube links alongside articles and other pages, organizes them in a Slot, and can remind you on a date or a repeating daily or weekly routine — including on your phone.

Can I set a reminder for a single video or for a whole Slot?

Reminders are attached to Slots. Put tonight’s videos in a Watch Later Slot with an evening reminder, or keep a long-term Slot without notifications. You choose the schedule per Slot, then add or remove items as you go.

Do reminders work if I saved the link on desktop?

Yes. Saves from the Chrome extension sync to iOS, Android, and the web app. A reminder can fire on the device where you actually have time to watch, not only the browser you used to save.

What if I ignore a reminder?

The item stays in the Slot until you open it, move it, or archive it. You can change the Slot’s reminder times whenever the old cadence stops matching your week. Nothing is auto-deleted because a notification was dismissed.
