Reminde
Chrome extension
A Chrome bookmark manager that reminds you
Chrome folders are a filing cabinet. Most people need a tray for “I will deal with this later.” Reminde’s extension saves the current tab into a Slot, syncs it to iOS and Android, and can notify you when that later actually arrives.
Bookmarks fill up. Reminders empty them.
The built-in Chrome bookmark manager is the right tool for permanent shortcuts: dashboards, docs, tools. It is a poor tool for articles you meant to read, products you meant to compare, and videos you meant to watch. Those URLs die in Other Bookmarks because nothing asks you to open them again. Reminde is the layer for that second job.
Save the tab you have open
Install the Reminde Chrome extension, click it on the page you want to keep, and choose a Slot. YouTube videos, blog posts, product pages, and docs all save as items you can reopen later. You can add a note or a tag in the moment — “compare shipping” or “watch after episode 3” — so the future you knows why it mattered.
If you cannot install extensions, a bookmarklet still sends the current URL to Reminde. On a phone, the share sheet does the same thing. Your Slots stay on one account, not a Chrome-only silo.
Slots instead of nested folders
A Slot is a first-level group: Reading, Watch Later, Wishlist, Research, Groceries. Tags live inside a Slot. Each Slot can have its own reminder schedule. That is closer to how people actually process saved tabs than a deep folder tree. When a Slot gets long, split “this week” from “someday” instead of creating Folder (copy) (2).
Coming from Pocket, treat Slots as the first-level groups and put finer labels in tags inside a Slot. Import the CSV, then file the Chrome-worthy leftovers into Slots you will actually open. For videos specifically, see watch-later reminders.
What not to move out of Chrome
Leave daily destinations on the bookmarks bar. Reminde is not trying to become your password manager, new-tab dashboard, or a mirror of every folder you have accumulated since 2014. Save what you would otherwise leave as a tab “for later.” Let Chrome keep the sites you navigate to on purpose every morning.
Frequently asked questions
Is Reminde a Chrome bookmark manager or a read-later app?
Both, with a narrower job than Chrome’s bookmark folder tree. Reminde’s extension saves the current page or YouTube video into a Slot, syncs it to your phone, and can remind you later. It is not a full replacement for the bookmarks bar you use for daily tools.
Does the Chrome extension replace the bookmarks bar?
No. Keep the bar for sites you open every day. Use Reminde for pages you do not want to lose and do not need in the bar — articles, videos, products, research — especially when you want a reminder instead of another nested folder.
Can I save without installing the extension?
Yes. You can paste links in the web app, share from iOS or Android, or use a bookmarklet when you want a lighter browser option. The extension is the fastest path in Chrome; it is not the only one.
Will Reminde import my existing Chrome bookmarks?
Reminde is built around saving new items and importing Pocket CSV exports. Dumping an entire Chrome bookmarks HTML file is not the intended workflow. Move the folders you still intend to read into Reminde Slots, and leave the rest in Chrome.
